I had a New York City trip on my mind in 2016 for a variety of reasons: visit FanSided’s parent company offices, attend a WordCamp, and sight-see a bit since I hadn’t been to New York in nearly 8 years.

Simply put, there wasn’t just one highlight. Not only was the WordCamp itself a fantastic experience between the people I met and the venue (seriously, WordCamp at the United Nations?! How cool!), the content of the sessions, and my other adventures that made for a memorable trip.

As I’m finally writing this and editing photos many months after the fact (WCNYC happened in July) I have the opportunity to share a small fraction of memories I captured on camera. I spent very little time snapping photos and looking back, I wish I’d taken many more. Ah well… Hindsight!

The experience of attending a WordCamp at the United Nations is unlike any other.

By far my favorite adventure outside of WordCamp was checking out Classic Car Club Manhattan with Aaron, Mike, and Jenny. A fantastic, lesser known spot that’s open to public visitors, full of exotic and classic cars. Bonus points for the fact that the location used to be where the NYPD stables used to be!

It seems there’s never enough time to see everything, as I realized after the fact that I forgot to schedule a trip to the Geuggenheim museum and didn’t make it to the Time Brooklyn offices, either. I look forward to the next WordCamp NYC, thank you to the organizers, sponsors, speakers, and attendees that made the event a memorable one!
